The anime premiered as part of the Spring 2024 season.
After more than a year since its finale episode aired, the action-adventure isekai anime series “Re:Monster” has revealed that Season 2 is now in production!
The news, revealed through an official press release, was also paired with a new teaser visual featuring the protagonist, Gobrou, and Princess Rubilia, who played a key role in Season 1.
Re:Monster Season 2 information
No other details about Season 2 were revealed, although it seems that Studio Deen will once again be animating. The main cast is also set to reprise their roles:
- Gobrou: Takuya Satou
- Minokichi: Kenta Hosoda
- Kanami: Ai Kakuma
- Asue: Kana Ueda
- The Redhead: Mai Kanno
- Rubilia: Nene Hieda
The first season covered the initial arcs of both the light novels and manga series, which featured the goblin Gobrou’s growth from childhood to adulthood spanning 120 days. Those being the: Goblin Life Arc, Elven War Arc, and First Expedition Arc. The series also showcased segments of the Kingdom Revolt Arc.
So it’s likely that Season 2 will continue into the Kingdom Revolt, Dungeon Plundering, and Holy War Arc. And if the pacing is the same, some snippets into the currently ongoing The Dark Continent Arc.
What’s Re:Monster about?
The first season aired as part of the Spring 2024 lineup, and adapted the light novel series by Kogitsune Kanekiru and illustrated by Yamaada. The novels were initially serialised in the user-generated publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2011 to 2018, before being acquired by AlphaPolis.
A manga adaptation with art by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa has been serialised online by AlphaPolis’s manga website since 2014, with 12 tankobon volumes as of 2024.
The latest volumes, Dark Continent Arc Volume 5 for the light novel series and Volume 13 for the manga, are also now on sale in Japan this 26 September, 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment licenses the manga for an English release, and describes the story as:
