Author Tenichi shares heartfelt thanks as Pride’s story continues, with a new season officially in the works and more details still to come.
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior anime is officially getting a second season, and fans of Pride Royal Ivy’s redemption arc have reason to celebrate. The announcement was made on the anime's official website on Monday (30 June) and X account.
Author Tenichi shared a heartfelt message following the announcement, admitting they were caught off guard by the news. “I am definitely more surprised than anyone else by the unexpected achievement of a second season, and I am also more happy than anyone else…!”
They reflected on how surreal it feels to continue the story, especially with the return of the characters from the in-universe otome game KimiHika. “Finally, we can see and hear the voices of all the characters that can be captured in the girls’ game,” they said, adding that it still feels “like a miracle.”
Tenichi credited the second season entirely to the fans’ continued enthusiasm. They expressed deep appreciation for the team behind the anime and the viewers who supported Pride’s journey: “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the last series and continued to believe in and hope for a second season.”
What we know so far about The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior Season 2
While details like the premiere date are still under wraps, the announcement came with a brand-new illustration from original novel artist Suzunosuke, which is a fitting tease for what’s to come.
The main cast of the series includes Fairouz Ai as Pride, Maaya Uchida as Stale, and Haruka Tomatsu as Tiara. Additional cast members include Junya Enoki, Kikuko Inoue, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Koji Yusa.
Studio OLM’s Team Yoshioka animated the first season, with Norio Nitta (ODDTAXI assistant director) in the director’s chair and Deko Akao handling series composition.
Based on the light novel series by Tenichi and Suzunosuke, the anime first aired in summer 2023, turning heads with its twist on the classic villainess setup. The story follows Pride Royal Ivy, a young girl who suddenly regains memories of her past life and realises she’s been reincarnated into an otome game as its ultimate villainess—the cruel crown princess destined to become the final boss. Armed with powerful abilities and political influence, Pride is supposed to ruin lives and meet a tragic end. But now that she knows what’s coming, she refuses to follow the original script. Instead of becoming the feared antagonist, she uses her knowledge of the game to protect the love interests and change everyone’s fate. The story is about redemption, second chances, and rewriting destiny, turning a villainess into a beloved heroine.
The series may follow a familiar setup, but The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen drew attention for its earnest lead and the tension between who she was meant to be and who she chooses to become. With Season 2 now in development, Pride’s story continues, one careful decision at a time.
More updates, including premiere timing and staff confirmations, are expected soon. Until then, that new illustration might just be enough to tide fans over for now.
