The short story collections focus on the women of ONE PIECE.
Eiichio Oda’s magnum opus ONE PIECE is getting another spin-off anime project, but this time, it’s all about the ladies. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of ONE PIECE announced that the Heroines short story collections, focusing on the women of the series, will be adapted into an anime. This will tell the stories of the heroines that we never got to see in the main series.
ONE PIECE Heroines anime adaptation details
The adaptation was announced during the ONEPIECEDAY’25 live stream, and only a key visual depicting Nami and Robin has been released so far. Haruka Kamatani directs the series while Takashi Kojima is designing the characters. Momoka Toyoda writes the scripts of the Heroines spin-off. We don’t know when the project is coming, however new information may be released in the coming months.
ONE PIECE Heroines is a collection of short stories written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa. It highlights the heretofore unseen lives of the women of the manga and anime. The first volume of the series focuses on Nami, Robin, Vivi, and Perona. The second volume shifts to Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta, with the final chapter being a conversation between Nami and Robin about the Straw Hats crew. Viz Media publishes both books in English and describes the first volume as:
Go behind the runway as style icon Nami stars in a life-changing fashion show, observe wise Robin as she helps to decipher an ancient tablet with Koala and Sabo, watch as solemn Princess Vivi receives a love letter from an unexpected admirer, and check out Ghost Princess Perona’s battle over the last bottle of wine with Zolo and Mihawk!
