The two new cast members have debuted in Episode 8 of Season 2.
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 is the Summer 2025 season’s most popular romcom anime. Ahead of the premiere of Episode 8 (overall Episode 20) of the series, the official website and social media accounts introduced two new characters into the ever-growing cast of the beloved anime. Episode 20 is out now and you can enjoy the performances of the two newcomers.
The original manga the anime is based on also reached an impressive milestone, as it has recorded over 14 million copies in circulation.
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 new cast members details
The two new voice actors who joined the cast are:
- The cosplay prop maker Akira Ogata voiced by Maki Kawase
- Veteran cosplayer Miyako Honda voiced by Mayuko Kazama
The new characters are both friends of the cosplay event photographer Suzuka (voiced by Marie Miyake) who Gojo and Marin met previously. The main cast of the anime consists of:
- Wakana Gojo voiced by Shōya Ishige
- Marin Kitagawa voiced by Hina Suguta
- Sajuna Inui voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki
- Shinju Inui voiced by Hina Yōmiya
- Kaoru Gojo voiced by Atsushi Ono
The new character Miyako Honda is seen cosplaying a male character from the in-universe popular basketball manga series Double Clutch. To celebrate the episode, a key visual of the in-universe manga has been released as well.
The anime is based on Shinichi Fukuda’s manga of the same name. The manga has surpassed 14 million copies in circulation. CloverWorks produces the anime’s second season with Keisuke Shinohara directing it. Yoriko Tomita handles series composition while Kazumasa Ishida designs the characters. Shinichi Fukuda composes the music. Crunchyroll streams the anime and describes the story as:
Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi--a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls.
