The second cour of the anime’s fourth and final season just came to an end.
The second cour of Dr. Stone: SCIENCE FUTURE, the final season of the Dr. Stone anime aired its last episode on 25 September, 2025. Right after it was released, the official website and social media accounts of the series announced that the third and final cour of SCIENCE FUTURE is coming in 2026. Although the exact date of the release is yet unknown, fans are happy to learn that the grand finale of the Dr. Stone franchise is coming soon!
Dr. Stone: SCIENCE FUTURE Cour 3 details
The third cour of SCIENCE FUTURE was announced with a new visual of Senku’s outline drawn in silver on a starry night background. The final stretch of the anime will take Senku and the others to the Moon where Why-man resides. The post also thanks the viewers for their continued support over the years. Unfortunately, no other details about the upcoming cour have been revealed as of now.
The Dr. Stone anime first began airing in 2019, followed by a second season in 2021. A TV special series titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui, which takes place between seasons two and three came out in 2022. The third season ran over two split cours in 2023. It was announced that the fourth and final season of the anime, titled Dr. Stone: SCIENCE FUTURE, will be divided into three cours. The first cour aired in Winter 2025, with the second following in Summer 2025. Now that only the last cour of the anime is left, fans are eagerly waiting for the grand finale to air next year.
The second cour of SCIENCE FUTURE was directed by Shuhei Matsuhita at TMS Entertainment. Kurasumi Sunayama handles series composition while Yuko Iwasa designs the characters. The music for the series was composed by Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutusmi and Yukihiro Kanesaka. The Dr. Stone anime is based on the popular manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. The manga began in 2017 and ended in 2022 with a total of 27 volumes.
