A short new trailer for the upcoming supernatural anime has been released.
The upcoming anime adaptation of the popular manga series Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary (Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai) just revealed that the series will air in January 2026. Moreover, new voice cast members for the anime have also been announced on the official website and social media accounts of the show.

The four new cast members of the anime are:
- Namu voiced by Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, Kenma Kozume in Haikyu!!)
- Mobuo voiced by Fukushi Ochiai (Sanou in Beastars, Majin Duu in Dragon Ball Daima)
- Akira-sensei voiced by Azusa Tadokoro (Eri Amakazari in City the Animation, Koito Nagase in Wonder Egg Priority)
- Chihiro-sensei voiced by Shiori Izawa (Pina in Sword Art Online, Pochita in Chainsaw Man)
Previously announced main cast members of the series are:
- Kaya-chan voiced by Azusa Tachibana (Yuu Yuutani in Bad Girl, Ella May MacPherson in Anne Shirley)
- Chie-sensei voiced by Maaya Uchida (Ninrir in Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man)
Hiroshi Ikehata is directing the anime at East Fish Studio. Shigeru Murakoshi handles series composition while Taro Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi design the characters. KOHTA YAMAMOTO and Shun Narita are composing the music while Yukio Nagasaki is the sound director.
The anime is based on Taro Yuri’s manga series of the same name. Seven Seas publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
Kaya-chan is a notorious problem child in her kindergarten, but none of the adults know her secret–till Chie-sensei is put in charge and learns of Kaya-chan’s hidden ability to see evil spirits and vanquish them with a punch! What will happen to this five-year-old who gets in trouble when she’s only trying to help?
