The breakout romcom anime My Dress-Up Darling is returning with its much awaited second season this July. Although the exact release date of this Summer anime is yet to be revealed, we have some exciting news for fans! A brand new trailer for the series has just been released, where we get to see more of Gojo and Marin’s adorable antics. Some new details about the anime staff have also been announced.

As per the latest trailer, Spira Spica is returning to perform the opening theme song of season 2 as well. The new OP is ‘Ao to Kirameki’, and you can hear part of it in the new preview video. The trailer also shows off a flirty moment between Marin and Gojo where she tries to share a Pocky stick with the boy. We can also see some new cosplays, including a bunny girl outfit, as well as new characters who will make their appearance in the upcoming season.
As per the announcements, Keisuke Shinohara is returning to direct the anime under CloverWorks. Yoriko Tomita continues to do series composition, while Kazumasa Ishida designs the characters, and Takeshi Nakatsuka composes the music. Yusuke Yamamoto is now the assistant director of the show instead of just episode director. Youhei Yaegashi is joining Kazuma Ishida and Jun Yamazaki as chief animation director. Ayumi Nagaki is the new prop designer while Ruri Satou is taking over as director of photography. Jie Ren is the new CG director for the anime.
The anime series is based on the popular romcom manga by Shinichi Fukuda. The story focuses on a high school boy named Wakana Gojo, who is passionate about making and dressing up Hina dolls, something he inherits from his grandfather. One day, his popular and gorgeous classmate Marin Kitagawa discovers his talent and asks him to help with her cosplay outfits. With her support, Gojo slowly comes out of his shell and starts designing beautiful outfits for her as a new world opens up for both of them.
