The anime will have a total of 24 episodes and run for two cours.
Gachiakuta, based on Kei Urana’s manga series of the same name, is probably Summer 2025’s most popular title. With its gritty action and dark themes, the anime is already on its way to become one of the best shonen anime of this decade. Unfortunately, the release of Episode 2 has come with unexpected news: the next installment of the show has been delayed by a week. The series will have 24 episodes and run for two consecutive cours.
Gachiakuta Episode 3 delay details
The official X (formerly Twitter) of the Gachiakuta anime announced that episode 3 of the series will air on 27 July, 2025. This replaces the previous date of 20 July, 2025, which happens to be Japanese Election Day, thus causing the delay. A special broadcast related to the Election will be shown during the series’ timeslot. The first two episodes of Gachiakuta are already out and streaming on Crunchyroll right now. But fans will have to wait an extra few days for the next installment.
After the release of Episode 2, Gachiakuta also released credits-less music videos of the opening and ending theme songs of the series. Both the videos go hard, with Paledusk performing opening theme song ‘HUGs’ and musical duo DUSTCELL performing the ending theme song ‘Tomoshibi’.
Gachiakuta streams the series internationally and describes the story as:
Crawl back from the abyss of Hell to change this lousy world!
Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss.
Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash.
Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!
