A tale of betrayal, revenge, and romance takes shape as May I Ask for One Final Thing? readies its anime debut this October.
When Scarlet El Vandmion is branded a “villainess” and humiliated at a ball by her fiancé, she decides she has endured enough. Her request is simple: one last favour, the chance to throw a punch before walking away. That defiance sets the stage for May I Ask for One Final Thing?, the fantasy revenge tale by Nana Ōtori that is now heading to television as an anime adaptation.
A new trailer has been revealed to give viewers a preview of the series:
The anime adaptation will begin airing in Japan on 3 October 2025, with Crunchyroll streaming it internationally across multiple regions. A new trailer previews the series and confirms its theme songs, the opening “Senjō no Hana” (Flower of the Battlefield) by CHICO with Honeyworks, and the ending “Inferior” by Shiyui. An English-subtitled version of the trailer has also been released for overseas viewers.
An advance screening will be held at United Cinemas Toyosu on 28 September, where members of the cast will appear on stage ahead of the broadcast launch.
What is May I Ask for One Final Thing about?
Ōtori’s light novel, illustrated by Satsuki, first appeared in 2018 before inspiring a manga adaptation by Sora Hoonoki in 2020. Alpha Manga publishes the series digitally in English.
At its centre is Scarlet, a noblewoman forced into the role of “villainess” by court gossip and her fiancé Kyle’s betrayal. Years of mistreatment build to that single decisive moment at the ball, after which she sets out to reclaim her dignity and seek revenge.
