The romance anime has also revealed its main cast and staff.
It has been revealed that the light novel series “The Villainess is Adored by the Crown Prince of the Neighboring Kingdom” (Akuyaku Reijou wa Ringoku no Outaishi ni Dekai sareru), or shortened to AkuDeki, written by Puni-chan and illustrated by Akeno Naruse is receiving a television anime adaptation, set to release sometime in January 2026.
The news, which was revealed through the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, also included main cast and staff announcements.
AkuDeki main cast, staff, and other details
The main cast includes:
- Mai Fuchigami as Tiara Rose
- Yuuichirou Umehara as Aquasteed
- Yumiri Hanamori as Akari
- Takuya Sato as Hartknights
Takayumi Hamana is directing the anime adaptation at Studio DEEN, with series composition being handled by Yoshimi Narita. Majiro is handling the character design.
The light novels for AkuDeki began in the online publishing platform Shosetsuka ni Naro in March 2016, before publishing company Enterbrain began publishing the series under their B’s Log Bunko imprint October of the same year. The series has 14 volumes as of 2024.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Hoshina began serialisation on Enterbrain’s B’s Log Comic service in December 2017, with 15 tankobon volumes as of January 2025.
The series was also adapted into a visual novel developed and published by Operahouse through the Nintendo Switch and Steam in March 2024.
The series is yet to receive an English license for global readers, but it’s still an incredibly popular title in Japan. The light novels logged a total of 5.6 million copies in circulation just last year.
