The upcoming anime is based on Kureha’s fantasy romance novel series.
The newly opened official website and social media accounts of the Bride of the Barrier Master (Kekkaishi no Ichirinka) announced that the light novel is finally getting an anime adaptation. A stunning key visual, as well as two illustrations from the light novel and manga’s illustrators were also posted. Although the release window hasn’t been announced, the main staff of the project has been revealed.

The fantasy romance anime is being directed by Toru Kitahata at studio TROYCA. Minami Murayama is designing the characters while Yoko Kitahara writes the scripts. More cast and staff details will be revealed in the upcoming months, along with the premiere date.
The original Bride of the Barrier Master novel series is written by Kureha and illustrated by Bodax. The series began publication in Kadokawa Shoten's Kadokawa Bunko novel imprint in 2021. A manga adaptation by Odayaka began in 2022. Both Bodaz and Odayaka posted illustrations to celebrate the anime adaptation.
Yen Press publishes both the novel and manga series in English and describes the story as:
