The popular romcom anime Rent-a-Girlfriend is coming back with Season 5 next year! The official website and social media accounts of the anime confirmed the news with a new key illustration of Kazuya and Chizuru. The upcoming season will be the Second Cour of the Hawaii Arc, and has been confirmed as season 5. The news came out right after the final episode of Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4 was released.
Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 details
The new key visual announcing the release of Season 5 includes Kazuya and Chizuru, with chibi versions of Mami, Ruka, Sumi, and Mini’s faces floating around them. The illustration is made by the show’s character designer Kanna Hirayama. Unfortunately, no other details about the sequel have been revealed so far other than it being a continuation of the Hawaii Arc.

The fourth season of Rent-a-Girlfriend began on 5 July and ended on 20 September, 2025. Kazuomi Koga returned to direct the anime at TMS Entertainment. Mitsutaka Hirota handles series composition while Kanna Hirayama designed the characters. Kenichi Maeyamada composed the music. The fourth season was originally announced as a split-cour, but the production team decided to release the next cour as the anime’s 5th season instead.
The popular anime is based on Reiji Miyajima’s manga series of the same name. Crunchyroll streams the four available seasons of the anime and describes the story as:
Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. "Ugh... Damn it. I never want to go through that again."
