“My Hero Academia Vigilantes” Season 2 announced for January 2026

A new key visual of the three main characters has also been released.

The first season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, a spin-off of the original My Hero Academia anime, came out in April 2025 and immediately became a fan favourite. It was almost immediately confirmed that the series will be back with a Season 2. 

Recently, the MHA stage event at the KYOMAF 2025 revealed that Vigilantes Season 2 is coming out in January 2026, with the series’ official website and social media accounts also confirming the initial announcement. The final season of the original My Hero Academia anime will begin airing on 4 October, 2025.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 details

Other than the confirmation that the series is coming out in January 2026, not much else was revealed about the sequel. A new key visual consisting of the three main characters of the anime–Koichi Haimawari (Shuichiro Umeda), Pop Step (Ikumi Hasegawa), and Knuckleduster (Yasuhiro Mamiya). Fans are excited as, despite being a spin-off of the original MHA manga and anime, Vigilantes became an amazing show on its own merit. 

Kenichi Suzuki directed the first season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes at BONES FILM. Yōsuke Kuroda took up the role of the scriptwriter while Takahiko Yoshida designed the characters. Yūki Hayashi, Shōgo Yamashiro, and Yūki Furuhashi composed the music together. Yukihiro Watanabe was the art director and Haruko Nobori was the colour designer. Yingying Zhang took up the role of the director of photography while Misuki Sasaki joined as the 3DCG director. Kiyoshi Hirose was the editor while Masafumi Mima was the sound director for the anime. Crunchyroll will continue to stream the series when the second season drops.

The original My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. It’s a spin-off of Kōhei Horikoshi’s MHA manga, and takes place five years before the main story, making it a prequel to the original series. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:

Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…
