Gountess tells Rudo about how Mymo killed his grandparents.
In the previous chapter of Gachiakuta, we learned about Gountess’ childhood, and how he developed his vital instrument and its power ‘Connect’, to help Too Lily.
In the recent issue of the manga, he reveals his true power, and sends Rudo all his memories to make him understand how dangerous Mymo is. He also revealed the tragic end his grandparents met at the hands of the megalomaniac.
Now that Mymo has captured his only remaining weakness, Lily, Gountess has no other way but to beg Rudo to save her.

The issue begins with a power bursting through from Gountess, which seems to affect everyone who’s wearing one of his Chokers. In the next panel, we see Rudo standing in front of Gountess in a deserted small town. It seems that it’s one of Gountess’ powers that lets him show people things, and talk to them when he wants to. He addresses Rudo and says that this is the true power of his Vital Instrument ‘Connect’.
He says that he has sent Rudo all his thoughts and memories, and knows he has received them. He tries to reach the people who wear his Chokers, open a path to their heart and make a way to deliver thoughts to their souls. Rudo stares at him as Gountess says that the place they’re in right now (in his thoughts) is his hometown. Although he can reach everyone who’s wearing a Choker at the Doll Festival, Rudo is the only one he gave these memories to. He apologises for the heavy burden and accepts that his greed has brought this upon him.
We learn how Mymo reached out to a young and naive Gountess and wanted him to create the communication device that can reach the whole world. Rudo says that Gountess was tricked and it wasn’t his fault. However, Gountess reveals that he had a selfish reason to join Mymo. The megalomaniac replaced his weak heart with a mechanical one with cutting edge technology to help him live longer.
Drunk on the power of being free for the first time in his life, Gountess created many Chokers. He also did it to earn money so he could build a house for his grandparents and Lily.
Although it was painful sometimes to hear everyone’s thoughts at once, Gountess was consumed by the job and kept creating. He warns Rudo to never let his goals overtake his whole life. One day, when he found out that Mymo wanted to get people’s information through the Chokers and broadcast it, he refused to work for him anymore. Mymo revealed that he wants to be the ruler of the ground through these Chokers and wanted Gountess to join him. When Gountess refused, Mymo did something unforgivable.
In a terrifying panel, we see how Mymo cut off the heads of Gountess’ grandparents and presented them to him on plates. The horrific memory still lives in Gountess’ mind. Now, the psychopath has Lily hostage, and he can’t stand to see her suffer the same fate as his family. He begs Rudo to protect Lily. He reveals that although her Vital Instrument lets her do almost anything, there is a massive caveat. Lily can never use her power to hurt anyone or she will die. No matter how cruel Mymo is to her, she can’t harm him.
For Lily, her ignorance was a shield. Gountess wanted to protect her, and that’s why he never told her anything, not even about the Doll Fest plot. Unfortunately, he got greedy and talked to her Choker once. Although she left before she learned anything of value, there’s no telling what Mymo might do to her. He begs Rudo to help them, and the protagonist promises to take care of it. Rudo comes back to the real world and his power causes a rift to appear in the ground. In the final panel, we see Lily standing on top of a small plateau, looking at a strange formation in the distance.
Gachiakuta Chapter 150 review
Kei Urana gifted us with another banger chapter even though it left all of us a bit traumatised. The scene where Mymo presents Gountess with his grandparents’ heads was especially hard to see. However, it only goes to show what a cruel and dangerous character Mymo is, and proves that there is no low he won’t stoop to in order to become the Ground’s ruler. I don’t know how Rudo and the Cleaners are going to take him down, but they need to do it fast. Otherwise, Gountess, Lily, and the rest of the Doll Festival attendees will be in great danger at the hands of this madman.
