The light novel series began serialising in the Shosetsuka ni Narou website, with Ezogingitune as writer and DeeCHA as illustrator from 2018 to 2021. The series would later be acquired by SB Creative under their GA Novel imprint in 2019. So far, there are seven volumes as of 2022.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Chaka Akebono and composition by Kitsune Tennoji began serialisation in Square Enix’s Manga Up! manga website and app in August 2019, with a total of 17 tankobon volumes as of May 2025.
The story is described as:
With no other options, Luck makes the choice to hold the line against the unending demonic hordes alone, to make sure his comrades can escape with their lives. However, through a combination of fortune, skill, and ingenuity, he holds that line for ten straight years, eventually coming out on top singlehandedly. Now he has to tackle the dilemma of how to occupy himself in a world where he holds a myriad of roles: that of a legend, that of a veteran, and that of a brand new face.
