Season 2 is set to broadcast almost three years after Season 1 aired.
An exciting new update for the upcoming second season of the 2023 anime “The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior” has revealed a broadcast window of April 2026.
The update also includes a brand-new teaser trailer:

What is “The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen” all about?
“The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior” anime adapted the first two volumes of the light novel series by Tenichi. The light novels originated from the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro in April 2018, before being published in print by Ichijinsa with illustrations by Suzunosuke in 2019.
The light novels currently have 12 volumes, with volumes one to nine released with English translations by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The light novels also received a manga adaptation by Bunko Matsuura from 2020 to 2022, but was unfortunately cancelled due to the artist’s poor health. Illustrator Akiko Kawano would later on take the helm for the manga adaptation in 2023, with their version currently ongoing at Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero Sum magazine.
Similar to the light novels, Seven Seas Entertainment is also publishing the manga in English.
The story is officially described as:
Pride Royal Ivy is only eight years old when she realizes that she’s been reincarnated, destined to become the future wicked queen and final boss of an otome game. She’s got it all in this new life: razor-sharp wit, boss-tier powers, and influence over the kingdom as crown princess. Determined to sow despair and destruction across the land, she… Wait, what kind of a rotten future is that?! Princess Pride decides to drop the maniacal villainess act and protect the male love interests instead, cheating her way to saving everyone she can! What to expect with Season 2
Season 2 will most likely adapt volumes 3 and 4of the light novel series, which will focus on Pride as she reaches the age of 16 years old.
Having successfully avoided her route to villainy all the while, Pride has successfully turned her would-be enemies into allies. However, a new hurdle presents itself to Pride on the eve of her birthday, when she is introduced to the neighbouring kingdom’s prince…who also turns out to be her fiance!
Pride knows that a future of despair awaits this prince, so she resolves to protect and guide him towards a happy ending.
On the other hand, Prince Cedric of Cercis arrives to propose an immediate alliance, however, Pride doesn’t know what to make of him or why exactly he’s seeking her cooperation. The ambiguity leads to both royals butting heads, that is, until Pride finds out that a war may be brewing on the horizon!
