Blue Box was one of the most successful romance anime of 2024, and fans are excited for more!
Based on Kouji Miura’s popular manga series, the sports-romance anime Blue Box took fans by a storm when it began airing in October 2024. After its 12th episode aired, a short break was announced for the series, with a 2nd cour coming on January 2, 2025. Now that it’s almost time for the 13th episode, here is everything you need to know about the release date, time, and more.
The first episode of Blue Box season 1 cour 2 is set to come out on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:55 PM JST. This converts to 8:27 PM IST (January 2), 10:57 PM SGT (January 2), and 7:57 AM PST (January 2).
The preview video focused on the two main characters Taiki Inomata, and his upperclassman Chinatsu Kano, who find themselves living under the same roof. Taiki is a badminton player who fell in love with Chinatsu after seeing her dedication to basketball. The two have promised each other to make it to their prospective national championships, but it won’t be too easy.
The previous cour introduced the two protagonists, as well as their friends. Especially Taiki’s friend Hina Chono, who has an unrequited crush on him. The relationship between Taiki and Chinatsu escalated in the final episode when the two went to a summer festival together. As per the new trailer, both main characters, as well as their friends will have to go into uncharted territories in both their love lives and their sport.

The opening theme for Blue Box’s cour 2 is revealed to be ‘Saraba’, performed by Macaroni Empitsu, while the ending theme song is ‘Contrast’ performed by TOMOO. A new character named Ayame Moriya will also be introduced in the second cour, and although we’re not spoiling what role she may play in the story, she’s definitely going to be an unforgettable addition to Blue Box’s cast. Renowned voice actress Kana Ichinose, who voiced Fern from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Yuzuriha from Dr. Stone will voice Ayame.
