The long-awaited second season of the massively popular 2023 anime My Happy Marriage is set to air on January 6, 2025.
Set in an alternate Taisho era, Miyo Saimori is a down-on-her-luck young woman constantly tormented by her stepmother and stepsister. Her entire life changes when she’s betrothed to Kiyoka Kudo, a famously cold and cruel general known for driving away his previous fiances.
However, when she actually meets Kiyoka, Miyo realizes that although he comes off as cold, the powerful man is just awkward. Her warm and sweet personality melts the ice around his heart and the two start falling for each other. Unfortunately, their relationship is tested when Miyo’s jealous family kidnaps her in hopes of getting her stepsister married to Kiyoka instead. Thankfully, both of them are unharmed and Miyo even discovers her latent magical powers that make them an incredibly strong couple.
Season 2 of the popular magical romance anime will air on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:30 PM JST. This translates to 5:30 AM PST, 9:30 PM SGT, and 7:30 PM IST release on the same day. Much like the first one, the second season of the show will also air globally on Netflix. Most of the old cast members are returning for the new season as well. Some of the new characters that will make an appearance in season 2 are Tadakiyo Kudo (voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu), Fuyu Kudo (voiced by Kikuko Inoue), and Naoshi Usui (voiced by Yuya Uchida).

The latest trailer for the upcoming season shows Miyo and Kiyoka leaving their home to live with Kiyoka's parents. It seems that Kiyoka’s mother Fuyu doesn’t approve of Miyo, and wants to make sure she really is perfect for her son. Not only will Miyo have to pass all her tests, but also improve her Dream-Sight ability with the help of Kiyoka. Moreover, it seems that Miyo’s estranged father will also make an appearance, which might change her life forever.
