The news was announced during the Aniplex Online Fest event.
The upcoming movie continuation for the anime series “The Irregular at Magic High School” has revealed new information ahead of its 2026 premiere.
The movie, titled “The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE - Yotsuba Succession Arc -” also unveiled its first teaser detailing what fans can expect as the story enters a new arc.

Joining the original cast will be two new characters. They are:
- Shinya Mitsube voiced by Daisuke Ono
- Yuka Tsukuba voiced by Aoi Yuki
Jimmy Stone is directing the movie at studio 8BIT, with Taku Iwasaki handling the music. No other staff have been revealed.
The movie is set to adapt the most popular arc of the light novel series by Tsutomu Satou, which is the “Yotsuba Succession Arc”. As the new year arrives, Miyuki is given an invitation for the Yotsuba new year’s family gathering where she is faced with a difficult choice: to become the head of the Yotsuba family to set her brother, Tatsuya, free, but lose her freedom and be forced to marry someone else.
Tensions rise in this arc, but another surprising revelation is yet to be made for the siblings–a truth that may change their relationship forever.
The Irregular at Magic High School first began publishing in Shousetsuka ni Naro from October 2008 to March 2011, before being released in a light novel format by Dengeki Bunko in July 2011.
The series received an anime adaptation by Madhouse in 2014, followed by Season 2, this time produced by 8bit, in 2020. Season 3 aired in 2024.

Based on the light novel by Tsutomu Sato, The irregular at magic high school is set in a world where magic exists but instead of using chants and spells, magic users cast spells with their Casting Assistant Device (CAD). The CAD is infused with the user’s Psions (a substance-less thought particle) that activates the device and constructs the magic ritual.
