Buratsuta wants to bring Nagi back to Blue Lock, but Ego is against it.
The previous issue of the Blue Lock manga focused on Nagi’s depressed state after being kicked out of Blue Lock. But the recent chapter proves that his absence has not gone unnoticed by the BLTV fans. Buratsuta tries to talk Ego into giving Nagi another chance as he brings in a lot of money for them, but he refuses. On the other hand, Anri talks to the remaining Blue Lock players and the press about their plans for the next U-20 World Cup, which is to be hosted in Japan.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Blue Lock Chapter 303 recap

Buratsuta is seen celebrating the 78 billion Yen BLTV and the Neo Egoist League have made. He meets with Ego and tells him how thankful the Japanese Football Union is toward him for bringing the money. But then he asks why he eliminated Seishiro Nagi as he was one of the most popular players on their show. Ego says that he was kicked out following all the rules. When Buratsuta tries to force his hand to give Nagi another chance, Ego says that he’s the god of this project and his only goal is to win the World Cup. That’s why he won’t bring back Seishiro Nagi just because of the money he makes.
The scene moves to Anri, who is holding a press conference with the remaining Blue Lock players. She explains how after the two phases, there are 23 players left. The next phase of the project is the U-20 World Cup.We learn that the next U-20 World Cup will be hosted in Japan, and players from all over the country will participate in it. Players like Loki and Kaiser, who were a part of the Neo Egoist League will also represent their countries. Blue Lock’s only goal now is victory.
Elsewhere, Buratsuta threatens Ego by saying he arranged for the WC to be hosted in Japan, so Ego has to listen to him. However, Ego answers that if he is forced to bring Nagi back, he will quit the project. They had already promised that he could only select 23 players, and Nagi didn’t make the cut.

At the press conference, Anri answers some questions and promises that this U-20 WC will be on the same level as the real World Cup. Buratsuta says that if Ego can’t win the U-20, he is fired, and Ego agrees. Anri invites Isagi, the representative of Blue Lock, to say a few words. The hero of Blue Lock promises to make the U-20 WC the hottest place in the world. The final panel shows Nagi in an arcade playing a game as it shows that there are only 50 days left until the beginning of the U-20 World Cup.
Blue Lock Chapter 303 review

Is Nagi coming back or not? This question will likely haunt every Blue Lock reader for the next few issues. Honestly, I can’t see Nagi back on the roster unless one of the players is forced to bow out. But it also seems that Nagi isn’t ready to give up yet. The difference between Isagi and Nagi is really palpable in this chapter, and while it’s heartbreaking, Nagi needed this wake up call to bring him back to the right path. Before the U-20 World Cup starts, we would likely also receive an update about Reo and how he’s faring after Nagi’s departure. With the World Cup right around the corner, Blue Lock is about to get a lot more exciting!
