Zanka stops Gils’ ballistic attacks with his Lovely Assistaff.
The latest chapter of Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta manga focused on Riyo and Zanka, two of the most important members of the Cleaners. After Rudo brought the Adderoy twins out of Mymo’s control, it’s now upon Riyo to break through Felix’s impenetrable shield and grab the villain. However, with Zanka being busy with Gil’s unpredictable baseball attacks, it might be harder than she thought. Thankfully, Riyo is nothing if not crafty.

The issue begins with Riyo looking at the massive spherical shield that Felix and Mymo are hiding in. With a spherical object, her scissors can’t get a grip unless there’s a chip somewhere in the shell. Unfortunately, the ball likely can’t be moved from the inside either, which means that if she attacks, her impact won’t have enough power to create a crack in the impenetrable shield. Just as she’s thinking about what to do, she hears the sounds of Zanka fighting Mymo’s other lackey Gil.
We then see the balls hit by Gil approaching Zanka with immense speed. He hits them all away with his staff, but Gil mockingly says that he can’t keep doing this forever. She explains that she ordered the balls to hit Zanka’s body and not his stick. This means that they will keep chasing him until they hit at least one part of his body. After hearing this, Zanka cuts one of the balls in half and pierces the rest with the spikes on his Assistaff. He says that the balls won’t behave like ballistics if they lose their spherical shape. Gil says that Zanka is one of the snooty elite kids who say that they don’t study but get a perfect score anyway.
Zanka says that she can’t keep doing it since her reserve of balls must be running out. Gil answers that her Vital Instrument Gilmero can turn any spherical object it hits into a ballistic missile of sorts. This means as long as she has ball shaped objects to hit, she’ll be fine. She gets ready to hit some of the balls at Zanka again. But just then, Riyo yells excitedly and pushes the massive ball-shaped shield containing Mymo and Felix in front of her. This sudden pitching shocks Felix, and Mymo, and Gil can’t stop herself in time from hitting the shield.
Due to Gil’s power, the shield turns into a ballistic missile and starts chasing Zanka. Riyo asks him to stay right there and support her while she cuts the ball with her massive scissors. Zanka decides to trust her judgement and uses his Assistaff to leverage himself and keep Riyo in place while she attacks the spherical shield. Felix tells Riyo that it’s futile since his and Gil’s combined powers will turn both her and Zanka into roadkill.
He has immense confidence in the letters he has used to make the shield. His feelings and love can’t be surpassed by anybody. But Riyo says that she can cut through it. When someone’s ‘love’ is too strong, then it’s easy for cracks to get in. The final panel of the chapter shows us Riyo actually cracking through Felix’s shield and breaking it in half.
Gachiakuta Chapter 146 review
Riyo took “modern problems require modern solutions” to the next level with the 1000 IQ move. Making the decision to push Felix’s shield in front of Gil in the split second after she revealed how her Vital Instrument works proves how battle ready she is. She also had enough faith in her own power to put her and Zanka’s life on the line. This was easily one of the best Riyo moments in the manga so far, and I love that Zanka got a chance to shine as well. The more I see him, the more I understand why Enjin told Rudo that Zanka is the best at handling his Vital Instrument. Now that the shield is broken, I can’t wait to see how the Cleaners deal with the megalomaniac Mymo.
