One of the biggest anime series is returning after a long hiatus.
It was confirmed in Weekly Shonen Jump’s 32/2025 issue that the Black Clover anime is preparing a brand new season. The news will be officially confirmed once the magazine issue hits the market on 7 July, 2025. However, fans across the world are rejoicing as it’s been four years since the last season of Black Clover aired. People have been eagerly waiting for the shonen series to return to the screens, and now it’s time.
Black Clover Season 5 details
Unfortunately, other than this confirmation from a credible Weekly Shonen Jump fan account, there’s not much news available on Black Clover Season 5. If it’s already under production, then cast and staff details should be revealed within a few months. The anime went on a hiatus in 2021 as it had already caught up with Yuki Tabata’s original manga and updates were really slow. The anime might be coming back because this year is the 10th anniversary of the Black Clover manga. Asta’s magical story began in 2015, and has been going strong ever since. Weekly Shonen Jump is celebrating this anniversary with a can badges lottery, A5 clear stand with lead colour page, a double-sided poster with cover for fans, as well as 17 Special mangaka illustrations by Gege Akutami (Jujutsu Kaisen), Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Tite Kubo (Bleach), Kohei Horikoshi (My Hero Academia) and more. The anime aired four seasons from 2017 to 2021, followed by a movie titled Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King in 2023 on Netflix. Crunchyroll streams the anime and describes the story as:
