“The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife” anime gets delayed to 2026, reveals main cast

The first trailer of the series has also been released.

The highly-awaited romance anime series The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife just got delayed. Previously announced for this year, the new trailer of the series revealed that it will air in 2026 instead. No definitive release date has been disclosed yet. However, the two main characters and their voice actors have been revealed.

The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife cast, staff, and other details

The two main cast members of the anime are:

  • Akira Tonome voiced by Yōhei Azakami
  • Shizuka Yakou voiced by Yuka Nukui

Studio Project. 9 produces this unique romance anime series with Mitsuho Seta as director and series composer. Kairi Unabara designs the characters while Ruka Kawada produces the music. Nozomi Nakatani is the sound director, with Yoishi Kadono handling suit design supervision. The anime is based on Iwatobineko’s manga series. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:

Yakou Shizuka, a quiet and bashful woman, works at a detective agency. Her boss Tounome, who owns the company, is the gentlemanly type, kind and dapper, though he has an extra talent—he’s invisible! His special ability is perfect for detective work, but he quickly comes to find it doesn’t work on Yakou, who is blind and always knows if he’s near. Charmed, Tounome is determined to get her to date him and isn’t against using his many skills. Yakou’s quirky coworkers, a contrarian human man and a sisterly beastwoman, kindly watch over her as she stumbles and blushes through the uncharted waters of office romance.
