The mangaka passed away earlier this June.
In an official announcement through the monthly manga magazine Dengeki Daioh’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the author and artist of the comedy-romance manga “Until The Gal and I Become a Married Couple” (Boku to Gal ga Fuufu ni Naru Made), Shino, had passed away just earlier this June.
Dead at 28 years old
The cause of death was not divulged by the editorial team. Shino was only 28 years old, and did not hint at any possible causes through their official social media accounts. Their last post on X, published on 20 June, only relayed a life update to their followers about a planned trip to Akihabara.
Not much is known about Shino. However, “Until The Gal and I Become a Married Couple” was their first–and only–major serialisation. Before that, they contributed to various manga anthologies for Azur Lane, Arknights, and Fate/Grand Order.
“Until The Gal and I Become a Married Couple” first began publication in December 2022 through ASCII Media Works’s Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh (Gekkan Komikku Dengeki Daio), and had totalled 23 chapters, with two collected volumes. The manga is also available to read through Kadokawa’s “Kadocomi”.
The last chapter was published in June, the same month Shino passed away.
The manga’s story is officially described in its official website as:
Kaminagakura Sora is a boy who grew up in a poor family. Thanks to his hard work, he was accepted into the high school of his choice, but he discovered that his parents were in debt! Just as they were trying to collect the debt, a mysterious gal appeared and offered to pay it off! Kaminagakura escaped from his predicament, but the gal offered him one condition to pay off the debt for him...
