In just three days, VShojo has run itself into the ground.
Following Ironmouse’s exit after allegations of funds mismanagement and unpaid dues against VShojo, the Vtuber agency is now in dire waters as Vtubers affiliated with the company have tendered resignations, effective immediately, in response to the controversy.
To fans and followers keeping up with this issue, it seemed inevitable that the company would lose their entire Vtuber roster
And now, both the American and Japanese branches of VShojo have experienced a complete talent exodus.
No talents left for VShojo
In our previous report, we confirmed that Amalee, Projekt Melody, Hime Hajime, Kuro Kurenai, Mici Mochievee, and Haruka Karibu have confirmed their exits from VShojo. Following these announcements, the remaining American branch Vtubers, Henya the Genius and Froot, have also confirmed their exits.
In a video statement, Henya the Genius powered through her nervousness to explain her current situation and future plans. Her decision to leave VShojo is largely influenced by her allegation that the agency similarly owes her a significant amount of dues, which had been “unpaid for a long time”.
She further expressed her heartbreak over the situation, stating that she “truly trusted the company” and their treatment of her has been “deeply upsetting”. Through tears, Henya stated that she had thought of VShojo in a positive light in the early days of her joining, as she had initially wanted to quit Vtubing before being brought into its talent roster.
Henya expressed her sadness, and apologised to her community that she needed to make her announcement, but she assured that she will not stop Vtubing, and instead will continue her activities as an independent Vtuber.
On the other hand, Froot, who has removed all VShojo affiliations and branding on her social media accounts, has yet to explicitly confirm that she’s leaving the agency. Through posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, she states that she’s still “struggling to mentally process” everything. However with her choice to distance herself from the VShojo brand, it’s looking like she’s also set on leaving after gathering her thoughts about the situation. Until then, fans can only wait for her statement.
UPDATE 25/07/2025: Froot has officially confirmed her departure from VShojo in a statement to her X account.
This statement came just a few hours after VShojo was confirmed to be shutting down.
VShojo's NOVA disbands
Meanwhile, the Japanese leg of VShojo has suffered a massive blow with the exit of its girl group, NOVA, leaving even this branch with no talents in its roster.
Yutori Peke confirmed her departure, as she was suddenly informed of her contract being terminated while on vacation.
Nagi Okamoto also revealed her departure, expressing disappointment that the situation had “come to this outcome”. She also went on a livestream to share her perspective.
Akatsuki posted an official notice of her departure from VShojo, and went live on Twitch to discuss the details.
Hestia the Genius posted a lengthy statement on X, confirming that in light of the recent incident, she has decided to terminate her contract with VShojo and return to indie streaming.
The group also confirmed that there are discussions ongoing about NOVA’s future, with nothing finalised as of yet.
Ironmouse’s Tiltify campaign for the Immune Deficiency Foundation reaches over US$1 million in donations
Although the controversy has been incredibly dire for VShojo, things seem to be ending on a hopeful note for Ironmouse.
The Tiltify campaign she had established after her announcement, which aimed to raise US$10,000 to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, has banked over US$1.123 million donations at the time of writing–more than double the amount of funds that have been mismanaged by VShojo.
Throughout the entirety of this controversy, the outpouring of love and support has proven that the community ardently supports its talents, making this a hopeful ray of light in a sea of uncertainty and confusion.
VShojo is still yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
