Hoshimachi is the first Vtuber to star in Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30 cover.
It has been revealed that the Hololive-affiliated Japanese Vtuber Suisei Hoshimachi is fronting the cover of Forbes Japan for its eighth annual 30 Under 30 list. The list features in the October issue of Forbes Japan, which went on sale just last 25 August.
A prestigious achievement for the Vtubing sphere
The news, which was announced through COVER Corporation’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, also revealed that a four-page long interview with Hoshimachi is included in the issue.
The Forbes Japan 30 Under 30 is a list that enumerates “30 people under 30 who are changing the world.” The winners, according to Forbes Japan, were selected by “the editorial department based on recommendations from an advisory board of over 80 people”. The board includes experts, industry authorities, and past winners “with consideration given to innovation and diversity.”
Hoshimachi features in the Entertainment and Sports category of the list as its only Vtuber.
Hoshimachi started her career as a Vtuber in 2018, first starting out as an independent creator. She later signed with Hololive Production in 2019 through their then-newly created music label INoNaKa Music, before finally joining the agency’s main branch in the same year. She has released a number of chart-topping songs and albums, as well as participated in live concerts to thousands of fans. Besides livestreaming and performing, Hoshimachi also featured in a number of television and radio shows.
