The final chapter of the manga was published on 24 July.
Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert Magazine announced in their September issue that Megumi Morino’s popular coming-of-age romance manga “A Condition Called Love” (Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai) will be getting a side story. The original manga series also published its final chapter on the same issue that came out on 24 July, 2025.
A Condition Called Love side story details
The magazine revealed that the new side series will start publishing in the Monthly Dessert Magazine in the January 2026 issue, which will come out in November 2025. Unfortunately, no other details about the project has been revealed and fans would have to wait a while to learn what happened to Hotaru and Hananoi after their graduation.
The author of the manga Megumi Morino also posted on their X (formerly Twitter) account about the manga ending. They also thanked all the fans who have supported the work for the past years. A Condition Called Love manga first began publishing in Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert Magazine in December 2017. The series was also adapted into a popular anime in 2024. Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
Hotaru is a 16-year-old high school first-year who has always been ambivalent about love, preferring instead to have a lively life with her family and friends. So when she sees her schoolmate, Hananoi-kun, sitting in the snow after a messy, public breakup, she thinks nothing of offering to share her umbrella.
