Labyrinth anime movie by Shoji Kawamori unveils cast details, and more

The movie will premiere in January 2026.

The upcoming original anime film Labyrinth (Meikyū no Shiori), by famed animator and mecha designer Shoji Kawamori just revealed its main cast. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the movie both confirmed the voice actors who will be joining the original movie. The film is set to release sometime in January 2026, although the exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The cast of the Labyrinth movie consists of:

  • Shiori Maezawa voiced by Suzuka
  • Komori voiced by Taizō Harada
  • Kirara Kurashina voiced by Aoi Itō
  • Kento Yamada voiced by Jun Saitō

Suzuka is part of the pop group Atarashii Gakkō! And is making her voice acting debut with this movie.

Shoji Kawamori directs the movie at SANZIGEN. This is his first feature-length film not tied to another franchise. The companies Slow Curve, Vector Vision, GAGA, and Fuji Television, are credited for the original story concept. Slow Curve is also helping with planning and production. Risa Ebata designs the characters for this original movie while Taichi Hashimoto writes the scripts.

The story of the anime film focuses on Shiori Maezawa, an ordinary high school student who suddenly teleports to a parallel universe Yokohama after her smartphone breaks. Upon checking her phone, Shiori finds pictures of herself on her social media that she definitely didn’t post. Now, she has to escape her phone’s freaky labyrinth to take back control of her life.
