“Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru” announces anime adaptation for October 2025

The anime is based on Akira Iwafune’s light novel series of the same name.

A brand new isekai anime has just been announced! That’s right, the Potion, Waga Mi wo Tasukeru (Potions, Save My Life) light novel series by Akira Iwafune just received an anime adaptation. The official website, YouTube and X (formerly Twitter) account of the Animation ID project has confirmed this, along with a key visual and preview video. The anime is set to premiere in October 2025.

Unfortunately, no cast details have been announced as of yet. But keep an eye on our page as we’ll update you if there’s any more news about the anime. As per the latest announcement, Mikiko Furukawa is directing the anime with Yuichi Imaizumi as the sound director. bermei.inazawa produces the music while Kazuya Takahashi is the production supervisor. Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio are co-producing the anime with STUDIO KAIBA Co., Ltd. is also involved in production cooperation.

The anime is based on the original light novel series written by Akira Iwafune and illustrated by Sunaho Tobe. A manga adaptation by Tobe has also been published. The Animation ID website describes the story as (loosely translated):

Kaede, an ordinary high school girl, wakes up in an unfamiliar back alley to find herself in a mysterious otherworldly world inhabited by beastmen, elves, and dragons. Kaede notices an unfamiliar book in her backpack. It 's a mysterious book that allows her to create potions simply by chanting the word "create"! For Kaede, who was thrown into another world, the potions she produced became a source of sustenance for her life. Hoping to one day return to Japan,the high school girl's struggles in this other world continue.
