The sequel to the 1988 classic anime series airs in January 2026.
It was announced a few months ago that the classic Ronin Warriors aka Samurai Troopers anime is receiving a sequel series. Titled Armor Legends Samurai Troopers (Yoroi Shin den Samurai Troopers), the anime is set to come out in January 2026, and so far, we only know the central character Gai. However, a revised version of the first trailer has been released, which gives us a slight glimpse into the other characters.

The revised trailer includes the silhouette and initials of the other central characters of the series. So far, we know that the protagonist Gai will be voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the series revealed the rest of the four main characters and the initials of their voice actors in a post. This includes:
- Suiren - A.M
- Kouya - S.T
- Soukyuu - J.E
- Senkou - K.K
After the silhouette and initial reveals, fans are even more hyped to find out who will be voicing them.
The upcoming sequel is being produced by Sunrise, who were also behind the 1988 Samurai Troopers series. Yoichi Fujita directs the show, with Shogo Muto handling series composition. Yuhei Murota is the character designer while Takuya Suzuki designs the armor with the help of the original designer Hideo Okamoto. Shuji Katayama is composing the music for the anime. Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world. Defeat drove him back to the realm of darkness, but not before vowing to return and exact his revenge. A thousand years later, the world has all but forgotten the name of Arago, Emperor of Doom.
