The mystery adventure RPG is getting an anime makeover!
It has been revealed that the 2017 adventure-mystery RPG “The Case Book of Arne” by Harumurasaki is now getting a television anime adaptation! The news, which was revealed through X (formerly Twitter), confirmed that the anime is set to premiere in January 2026, although an exact date is yet to be revealed.
The news was paired with a main staff announcement as well as a teaser video, which showed fans a first glimpse of the anime adaptation.
“The Case Book of Arne” main staff and other details
The anime adaptation is being helmed by director Keisuke Inoue at production studio SILVER LINK. Inoue is known for directing “My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!”, “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!”, and “Masamune-kun’s Revenge”. Inoue is also working on the series composition alongside the original game’s developer, Harumurasaki.
Akiko Sato handles character design and is the chief animation director, while Yoshimasa Fujisawa is handling music.
As previously stated, the anime adapts the 2017 mystery-adventure RPG “The Case Book of Arne”, which was initially released as a freeware in Vaka Game Magazine. The game is also available on Steam in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
The game received a shoujo manga adaptation with illustrations by Soraho Ina from November 2018 to March 2022. It was published through Media Factory’s “Monthly comic Gene”, and was collected into four tankobon volumes.
The official Steam page of the game describes the story as:
Arne Neuntöte is a vampire detective who manipulates supernatural powers.
Lynn Reinweiß is a nobleman’s daughter who loves vampires.
Their worlds should never have crossed, but they join hands to solve a bloody mystery.
In the darkest of nights, Lynn finds herself in desperate need of help.
Then she wanders into the mysterious city of "Lügenberg", where non-humans live.
Lynn's world changes drastically when she encounters "Arne", a vampire who is called "the worst" in the city.
And tonight, a new "murder case" has occurred.
What is the truth behind the bizarre incidents that take place in a world where humanity and the bizarre intersect?
"Come on, human. You may dance merrily under the crimson moon.”
