The anime is set to adapt “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice”.
Revealed during Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2025, Kadokawa, Crunchyroll, Ozil.la, and ARCH have officially unveiled “Sekiro: No Defeat”, an anime series adapting Fromsoftware’s 2019 critically-acclaimed action game “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice”.
The anime will feature fully hand-drawn animation, and will be exclusively streamed by Crunchyroll excluding Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus. It is set to premiere in 2026.

The main voice cast for the original game are set to reprise their roles for the anime. Daisuke Namikawa is once again taking on the role of protagonist Wolf, alongside Miyuki Satou as Kuro (The Divine Heir). Kenjiro Tsuda will return as Genichiro Ashina. The rest of the cast are still yet to be revealed.
The anime features the major directorial debut of Kenichi Kutsuna at studio Qzil.la, who previously did key animation work for a number of titles like Macross Frontier, Gurren Lagann, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto Shippuden.
Regarding the adaptation, Kutsuna had this to say:
"We are taking on the monumental task of animating the breathtakingly beautiful Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In doing so, we are pouring every ounce of our artistic vision and passion for beauty into its production. The final product is being crafted to be a truly memorable experience, one that will leave a lasting impression on both dedicated fans of the game and those who are discovering the world of Sekiro for the very first time. “Sekiro: Die Twice” won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2019, and was crowned Best Action Game of 2019 by IGN. The game also received over 50 awards and nominations.
