The anime has also unveiled its main trailer and visual.
The upcoming anime “SANDA” is all set to exclusively premiere on Prime Video worldwide, with its first episode releasing on the streaming platform on 3 October, 2025.
The news was announced through the main trailer of the anime, which was unveiled through the official YouTube account of Akita Publishing, the publishing company behind the manga by Paru Itagaki, where the anime is adapted from.
The anime also revealed its main key visual featuring its main cast of characters through its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The theme songs for the anime have also been unveiled, with yama performing the opening song “Childlike Adults”, while Soushi Sakiyama performing the ending song “Diary”.

The SANDA anime adapts Beastars mangaka Paru Itagaki’s work of the same title. The manga was serialised in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion from July 2021 to July 2024, with a total of 16 tankobon volumes.
The website describes the story of SANDA as:
In near-future Japan with ultra-low birthrates, children are treasured but monitored. Santa is banned as dangerous. One snowy December 25th, middle-schooler Kazushige Sanda, descendant of Santa, is attacked by classmate Fuyumura who wants him to find her missing friend, Ono. “Santa, please find my friend.” To protect children from adults, Sanda decides to become Santa and fight the adults.
