In a new announcement, the official X (formerly Twitter) of Netflix Japan announced that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run will exclusively stream on Netflix worldwide. Moreover, a global livestream event will take place on 23 September, 2025, which will reveal more details about the anime. This announcement is part of Netflix’s 10th anniversary in Japan.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run anime details
The upcoming Steel Ball Run series is the seventh season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime, based on the legendary manga by Hirohiko Araki. Each part of the manga, and in turn the anime, focuses on different protagonists. All of them belong to the extended Joestar family, and all their initials are JoJo. In the upcoming series, taking place in the late 19th century, we will follow former jockey Johnny Joestar and a mysterious man named Gyro Zeppeli in a dangerous cross-continental horse race.
Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi are once-again co-directing the upcoming season at David Production. Other returning staff members include series director Toshiyuki Kato, script writer Yasuko Kobayashi, character designer Daisuke Tsumagari, music composer Yugo Kanno, and sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami.
The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series began back in 2012, and has six seasons so far. Right now, Araki is publishing the 9th and latest part of the manga, titled JoJoLands. Netflix currently streams all seasons of the anime. Viz Media publishes the Steel Ball Run manga in English and describes the plot as:
