Solo Leveling Season 2 is in the halfway mark. What else can fans expect from this story?
Solo Leveling Season 2 has set the stage for some of the most impactful moments in Jinwoo's saga. Despite this, each new episode seems to keep viewers thirsty for more action, more lore and more development for Jinwoo. With six episodes aired, we’ve seen more than a few epic moments, with our protagonist being able to defeat the most formidable monsters, and showcase his power to more powerful hunters in the process.
The Hunters Guild Gate Arc wrapped up nicely with a grand face-off between Jinwoo and his Shadow army versus the High Orc Sage Kargalgan and the High Orcs.
While the season has delivered thrilling moments so far, there have also been some pacing inconsistencies, with certain story beats, fights, and scenes that felt rushed. However, the anime has only scratched the surface of what’s to come: Stronger hunters, bigger battles, and higher stakes. As the anime now moves into its final stretch, all eyes are on how far it will go before the season wraps up.

What’s next for Season 2?
The biggest question for fans is if Season 2 will be covering the long-awaited Jeju Island Arc. Even if it does, given the current pacing, it’s unlikely that we will see the entire arc covered in this season alone. In fact, as many fans know, there’s still quite a bit to cover before the anime reaches that part of the story. Here’s how we see the episodes rolling out.
Episode 20-21: Return to Demon Castle Arc
Episode 20-21 (or potentially, up to Episode 22) will definitely touch on the Return to Demon Castle Arc (Chapter 80-88), where Jinwoo returns to finish all floors of the tower to level up and most likely complete the ingredients needed for the Elixir of Life. However, it seems like he knows little of the Demon Castle. An intelligent group of Demons or Monsters are annihilating his weaker teams. Here he meets an unexpected ally. Somewhere in between, we’ll also finally see the real threat the winged ants pose to people—something that has been teased since the earlier episodes of the season.
Episode 23-25: Preparations for the Jeju Arc
Given that, we’ll probably be seeing the preparations part of the Jeju Arc in the final run of episodes—where more S-rank hunters will be introduced. We all know that gathering a group of powerful hunters in one place can either spell victory or demise, because for sure, at some point, egos will clash. Will this upcoming gathering of hunters bring hope or ruin? And will this force be enough to finally eliminate the Ant Army that invaded Jeju Island for so long? Most importantly, where does Jinwoo’s power level sit among them?
It’s most likely that the season will end with a cliffhanger—with the rest of the events of the Jeju Island Arc probably spilling over into the next two episodes of the third season.
Hopefully, the pacing and animation for the rest of the season will be more consistent—and it would be great if the series doesn’t strip away moments of comic relief like it did in the first few episodes and take itself too seriously. However, viewers will definitely be witnessing some really interesting events and interactions in the second half of the season—especially with more powerful hunters and enemies incoming.
