A teaser visual for Frieren, Fern, and Stark have been released.
The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime was one of the most popular titles of 2024, crowned by many as the year’s best. After a whole year since its release, fans finally have an update about a second season. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the series have confirmed that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will premiere in January 2026.

The anime’s return was announced during a talk show on 5 March 2025, which included the voice actors for Frieren (Atsumi Tanezaki), Fern (Kana Ichinose), and Himmel (Nobuhiko Okamoto). We can assume that these actors will be resuming their roles in season 2 as well. Moreover, the voice actors for Stark (Chiaki Kobayashi) and Sein (Yuichi Nakamura) might also be returning. Unfortunately, no new cast members have been revealed as of yet.
Studio MADHOUSE will once again be in charge of production, although the other staff members haven’t been confirmed yet. During the talk show, we also learned that the Frieren manga by Kanehito Yamada has 24 million copies in circulation and its 14th volume will be released on 18 March, 2025. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 story and other details
The first season of the anime adapted till the First Class Mage Exam arc of Kanehito Yamada’s manga. We saw how Fern passed the exam, along with some other mages who took it. However the Great Mage Serie fails Frieren due to some personal differences. In the end, since they secured one First Class Mage certification, Frieren’s party is allowed to make it to the Northern Plateau.
The latest teaser video and visual both show Frieren, Fern, and Stark sitting together beside a river with their feet soaking in the water. As they leave for Aureole, which is situated beyond the Northern Plateau, the party will meet many new people, and monsters. The plot is about to become more complicated and action-focused in the next arc.
