The announcement also features a new character visual and trailer for Tina Isemi.
The stage is set for Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty to turn up the volume this spring. HIDIVE has officially added the highly-anticipated anime adaptation to its Spring 2025 simulcast lineup, set to premiere on 3 April, 2025.
HIDIVE President John Ledford expressed his excitement, stating: “This new series is sure to ‘rock’ audiences with both its music and coming-of-age storyline. Anime fans will not want to miss it!”
Tina Isemi joins the fray
Alongside the announcement, a third character visual and trailer for Tina Isemi, the band’s keyboardist, have been revealed. Ayaka Fukuhara (Rin inTHE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS) will voice Tina.
Calm and composed, Tina is the daughter of the founders of a prestigious cosmetics brand, and many girls in the academy swoon over her seemingly graceful and refined aura.
The latest trailer hints at her background in classical piano but later on reveals her passion for rock. In the trailer, she was begging Lilisa and the band to let her join before fully embracing the band’s energy. The accompanying character visual also captures her transformation, trading her refined look for a T-shirt and a wild, expressive energy at the keyboard.
Produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty is directed by Shinya Watada, with Ōri Yasukawa as assistant director. Shogo Yasukawa handles series composition, while Risa Miyadani is in charge of character design.
The anime adapts Hiroshi Fukuda’s seinen manga series, which debuted in Young Animal in October 2022 and now spans six volumes.
Set in an elite all-girls academy, the story follows Lilisa Suzunomiya, a former guitarist forced to set aside her love for rock music after her mother remarries into high society. However, when she stumbles upon a hidden drummer in an old school building, the fire within her reignites. Together, they embrace their inner rockstars, shaking up the academy’s traditions with their rebellious sound.
