Here's some good news for Call of the Night fans: according to the official website of the supernatural dark romance anime, Call of the Night Season 2 is coming out on 4 July, 2025. HIDIVE will stream the series exclusively outside of Japan. Other than its release date, an exciting new cast member has also been introduced.
Maaya Uchida joins Call of the Night Season 2
Maaya Uchida (Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man, Seika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!) will play the character of Haru Nanakusa in the upcoming season. She’s a mysterious nurse who might be the only way for Nazuna to learn about her past. From the visual, it looks like Haru resembles Nazuna a lot, which might be connected to their shared past.
The official X account of the series has also unveiled a new key visual for the upcoming Cigarette Case Arc of the anime. The visual also hints at the deep connection between the nurse Haru and the half-vampire girl Nazuna. The season will also focus on Anko Uguisu, a vampire hunting detective hell-bent on getting revenge due to her traumatic past.
The anime is adapted from Kotoyama's dark supernatural manga series of the same name. According to Viz Media, the premise of the story is:
One sleepless night, Ko slips out to walk the streets. Life after dark is a revelation! When flirtatious Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them...
