Popular Japanese Isekai novel series “The One Within the Villainess” (Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito) just announced an anime adaptation. The news was revealed on the newly opened X (formerly Twitter) account of the series. Comic Natalie also reported the news. A new visual for the series has been released.

The anime is based on Makiburo’s novel series of the same name, which began publishing back in 2020. The manga adaptation by Nazuna Shiraumi was published in the Comic Lake magazine from November 2021 to May 2025. The final chapter of the manga came out on 30 May. The sixth and final volume will be released on 25 June. Botht he novels and the manga have yet to receive English translations.
Unfortunately, no details about the cast and staff of the anime has been revealed as of yet.
The story of The One Within the Villainess follows Emi, a girl who is reincarnated as Remilia, the villainess of an otome game. Emi tries her best to clear Remilia’s name and live a happy life, but fails miserably. Remilia finally reawakens within her body and goes down a path of revenge.
