The romcom Boys’ Love series is being produced by Studio Drive.
Many romcom lovers have eagerly been waiting for the TV anime adaptation of Syundei’s adorable manga series Go for It, Nakamura-kun!! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!). The series was set to premiere sometime this year, although no dates were announced.
Unfortunately, in a recent update from the official website and social media accounts of the anime, it was announced that the series has been delayed to 2026. This means fans will now have to wait a few more months until they can see this fluffy comedy on their screens. The series will stream on Crunchyroll once it airs.
Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! delayed due to production issues
The anime staff posted on the official X (formerly Twitter) account to announce the delay. It was revealed that the sudden postponing has something to do with problems with production. Unfortunately, no other details were spared and the staff apologised to everyone who has been waiting for the series. However, it was also announced that the first two episodes of the anime will be broadcasted in an advanced screening event somewhere in Tokyo on 24 August, 2025.
The upcoming BL anime series’ main cast includes:
- Okuto Nakamura voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi (Langa Hasegawa in SK8 the Infinity, Star in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)
- Aiki Hirose voiced by Yuki Sakakihara (Juri in Vampire Dormitory, Tamao Akisame in A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!)
Studio Drive is producing the anime series with Aoi Umeki as director. Naoki Yoshibe serves as the assistant director while Yasuko Aoki is in charge of series composition. Ayana Tsujita composes the music. The Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! anime is based on Syundei’s popular manga series. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
Nakamura is a shy and painfully awkward boy who has fallen in love at first sight with his dreamy classmate, Hirose. But there’s one problem: they haven’t even met! And that may be for the best, at least in Nakamura’s eyes. After all, he’s a total klutz that could totally bungle things before they even begin! But when he finally gets a chance to speak one-on-one with Hirose, will his worries cease or will he make a spectacular mess?
