Seiko comes up with a crazy idea to stop the Typhoon Human.
Just when I think that the Dandadan manga can’t get any crazier, Yukinobu Tatsu comes up with a chapter to completely blow me away. In the latest issue, Seiko tells Momo and Jiji to work together and throw the frozen sharks at the center of the typhoon to hopefully cool its temperature and stop it from tearing the plane apart. Shockingly, the Kito family joins their venture. But what Naki Kito pulls out from her bag shouldn’t be in anyone’s luggage.

Dandadan Chapter 196 recap
The chapter begins with Seiko telling Momo and Jiji to work together to take down the Typhoon Human with a nose, ears, and mouth. She tells Momo to use her powers to fish out the sharks from the sky. Then, Jiji can use his Chi powered palm wave to push the sharks into the eye of the typhoon. The frozen sharks will rapidly decrease the temperature of the center of the storm and start forming clouds outside the typhoon. As the eye of the storm starts to get bigger, it will gradually weaken. The frozen sharks will also lower the temperature of the sea water at the base of the typhoon. With the source of its fuel gone, the storm will lose its strength.
Momo assures her that they will do everything in their power to make that happen. Seiko then says she will pilot the plane and get it closer to the typhoon. But she doesn’t answer any questions Momo asks about whether she can actually fly a plane. After she’s gone, Momo and Jiji start following her instructions. Momo catches a big shark out of the air with her power and Jiji uses his palm wave to push it into the center of the storm. As they continue to do so, one of the Kito family members asks their matriarch whether they should try and kill them. However, Naki Kito answers that at this point, everyone on the flight is in danger. The only people who can help them land on the ground alive are Momo’s group.
She then uses her power to blow a hole into the floor of the plane, and uses it to reach the cargo carriage. She pulls out a bottle of water and pours it onto something in her luggage. Suddenly, a massive worm bursts forth out of the bag and breaks out of the plane. Momo recognises it as the Mongolian Death Worm and asks how it came here after they killed it. Naki Kita says that after Momo and Okarun killed the massive original worm, they found its eggs. They hatched one of them and fed it livestock to get it big. It can’t use several powers of the original worm as it didn’t have a human flesh diet.
Momo asks how they brought it with them, and Naki Kito explains that the worm can be reduced in size like clothes when all the air is sucked out of it. Adding a little bit of water causes it to regain its original size. Naki and one of the other Kito family members start riding on the worm’s back and ask it to gobble up the sharks. She then tells the worm to spit out the frozen sharks at the center of the typhoon. It turns out that with their own lives endangered, the Kito family is ready to help out Momo and Jiji.
Dandadan Chapter 196 review
The way Dandadan brings back old villains and turns them into allies is really an art. Previously it happened with the Mantis Shrimp alien and Serpo, and now with the Kito Family. Although we don’t know if the Kitos will continue to be friendly after the danger is gone, for now, they’re on Momo’s side. I’m also interested in seeing what the Typhoon Human cryptid actually looks like when it’s not in its massive tornado form. All enemies and allies will now have to work together to bring down the typhoon threatening to end their lives. Even if they have to use a death worm to do so.
