The simulacrum celebrates the upcoming Infinity Castle movie.
Demon Slayer aka Kimetsu no Yaiba based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series is one of the most popular anime of our age. This continues to be proved again with the new large scale project the anime just revealed ahead of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc Movie 1 release on 18 July. But this time, the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado is not on our screens, but on a rice field.
The new Tanjiro Kamado likeness spans 2.8 hectare land
Demon Slayer is taking artwork to a different level with this 2.8 hectare (28,000 square meters) Tanjiro Kamado portrait. The rice field where the simulacrum is designed is situated in Gyoda, Japan. The massive portrait is roughly the size of four football fields.
The Gyoda Omotenashi Tourism Bureau’s official X (formerly Twitter) account released some pictures of the project. It already resembles the beloved protagonist of the series. As summer passes and the rice plants grow, the image will become even more clear and impressive. The official X account of Kimetsu no Yaiba also shared the post. The massive project is gunning for the top spot at the Guinness World Record for the largest rice field artwork.
This project is part of the promotional countdown for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc Movie 1. The film is set to be released in Japan on 18 July, and its first full-length trailer will be released on 28 June. Moreover, the international release dates for the film have also been revealed. There will be a total of three movies adapting the Infinity Castle arc of the manga, with this one being the first. Fans are excited to see what more crazy projects are revealed for the upcoming movies.
