The supernatural drama romance is coming to Crunchyroll on 19 June.
It’s finally time to give into your emotions once again. The 2019 movie “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl” anime film will start streaming on Crunchyroll on 19 June, 2025 at 5 PM PST. The movie will be available to watch with both English subtitles, as well as an English dub.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl finally comes to Crunchyroll
The Rascal Does Not series is one of the most popular supernatural drama/ emotional romance series of the last decade. The original anime series, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, came out back in 2018. It adapted the first five volumes of Hajime Kamoshida. The Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl film followed next in 2019, adapting the sixth and seventh volumes of the novels. Now after six years, the film is finally set to be streamed globally on Crunchyroll.
The next movie, adapting volume 8, was “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out”. It came out in 2023. The third film released in the same year titled “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid” adapted volume 9. A follow up anime series titled “Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus” is set to come out on 5 July, 2025. Soichi Masui directed the film under CloverWorks. Masahiro Yokotani wrote the screenplay while Satomi Tamura was the character designer and the chief animation director. In Fujisawa, where the skies are bright and the seas glisten, Sakuta Azusagawa is in his second year of high school. His blissful days with his girlfriend and upperclassman, Mai Sakurajima, are interrupted with the appearance of his first crush, Shoko Makinohara. For reasons unknown, he encounters two Shoko-s: one in middle school and another who has become an adult.
As Sakuta finds himself helplessly living with the Shoko-s, the adult Shoko leads him around by the nose, causing a huge rift in his relationship with Mai.
In the midst of all of this, he discovers that the middle school Shoko is suffering from a grave illness and his scar begins to throb...
