You and Idol Pretty Cure (Kimi to Idol PreCure♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure franchise, is coming back with an anime movie. The film is set to open in Japan on 12 September. Ahead of the release, it revealed its first trailer, which features its theme song.

The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the movie both released the new trailer. The full title of the film is Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure♪ Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru KirakkiLive! (You and Idol Precure♪ The Movie: Thank You for Waiting! KirakkiLive for You!). The new trailer features the theme song ‘♪HiBiKi Au Uta♪’ performed by the five Precure girls: Cure Idol (Voice: Misato Matsuoka), Cure Wink (Voice: Minami Takahashi), Cure Kyun-Kyun (Voice: Natsumi Takamori), Cure Zukyoon (Voice: Yoshino Nanjo), and Cure Kiss (Voice: Miharu Hanai). It also includes the ongoing anime series’ theme song ‘You and Idol Precure♪ Light Up!’.
The trailer introduces the movie’s story, which takes place at Aiai Island during the Super Miracle Idol Festival. Cure Idol Uta Sakura and her friends all participate in the No. 1 idol festival in the universe. It’s here that Uta meets a red-haired girl named Tera who seems to despise idols. But things change when monsters known as Yami Kurage attack from the sea and turn people into stone. The trailer also features characters from the franchise’s previous two anime titles Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure and Wonderful Precure! It was announced that film attendees who are junior high school-aged or younger will receive one of two randomly distributed light-up Miracle Aiai Bracelets. A nationwide concert tour will be organised to accompany the movie and feature the theme songs.
The You and Idol Precure♪ anime series is the 22nd installment in the long running PreCure franchise by Toei Animation. This musical magical girl anime series has multiple anime series and movies.
