The Kill Blue anime is based on the popular manga of the same name by Tadatoshi Fujimaki. Serialisation of the manga began back in April 2023 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine. The final chapter was published on 31 August (1 September in Japan), which coincided with the anime adaptation announcement. The manga has 10 volumes so far, with the 11th and final volume coming out on 4 September, 2025. Viz Media releases the manga in English and describes the story as:

Juzo Ogami’s a legend. Even among hit men, his name sends shivers down spines. There’s never been a job he couldn’t handle—that is, until the day he wakes up as a teenager! But how has his body transformed? To find out, he’ll have to infiltrate the one place he thought he’d never find himself in again…school!
