The Blue Orchestra anime is finally coming back with its second season this Fall. The official website and social media accounts of the anime announced that Season 2 of Blue Orchestra will premiere on 5 October, 2025 with 21 episodes. A brand new key visual has been released featuring the central characters of the anime.

Blue Orchestra Season 2 details

The Blue Orchestra anime is based on Makoto Akui’s manga series of the same name. Seiji Kishi directs the anime at Nippon Animation while Yuko Kakihara writes the series composition. The official website of the show has also released comments from all three.

Makoto Akui’s comment says (machine translated):

Season 2 finally begins with new characters and new sounds! I believe that Aono and his friends' music is born from the struggles of joy and pain. Let's have fun together!

Seiji Kishi’s comment says (machine translated):

An orchestra playing in a TV anime - we've made such a foolhardy dream a reality! "Blue Orchestra" is a one-of-a-kind work that attempted expressions that no one had ever attempted, or been able to attempt. And Season 2 has evolved to be even more challenging and passionate. The power and emotion of the orchestra will resonate in your heart. Please enjoy this unprecedented experience!

Yuko Kakihara’s comment says (machine translated):

Demonstrating performance scenes in animation and CG takes an incredibly long time, so I finished writing the script for Season 2 over a year ago. I plan to watch reruns of Season 1 to prepare myself again. I look forward to your continued support of "Blue Orchestra."

Other production staff include:

Character Designer: Kazuaki Morita

Music Composer: Akira Kosemura

The story of Blue Orchestra revolves around Hajime Aono, who used to be a violin prodigy who quit playing in middle school. Now in high school, Aono is inspired by classmate Rutsuko Akine to pick up his instrument again. With the help of Akine and the school’s reputable orchestra club, Aono finds his love for music once again.
