Momo and Vamola fight the chameleon alien in Dandadan Chapter 208

Momo comes up with a unique way to defeat their massive opponent.

When your opponent is the size of a building, literally, and you’re no longer than a few inches, then the odds are stacked against you. But if you have a trusty and powerful friend by your side, and a sharp brain to come up with plans on the fly, then you can take down enemies of any size. That’s what Momo proved in the latest chapter of Dandadan manga while fighting against the Chameleon alien, who had camouflaged himself as a whole building, alongside Vamola.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Dandadan Chapter 208 recap

Vamola faces off against the massive alien (Image: Shueisha/ Yukinobu Tatsu).

The chapter begins with Jiji leaving in the taxi with Seiko to get her treatment. Vamola charges at the chameleon alien, who is camouflaging the whole temple. Momo jumps into Vamola’s kaiju suit, and it turns out, even though Vamola can’t see Momo, the suit can detect her. Following Momo’s orders, Vamola activates Empty Space around them. Vamola’s suit then turns massive and goes invisible. However, as she charges at the building-shaped alien, it jumps out of her way. The alien says that Vamola’s suit uses retro-reflective projection technology to turn invisible. However, the kite ninjas he has flying around can easily see her form.

Suddenly, Vamola is attacked by several fireworks. Their beauty distracts her, but Momo warns that they’re actually explosives. In the next second, we see that the explosions have dropped Vamola’s suit’s endurance gauge by a lot. She reveals that if the endurance gauge turns to zero, the suit will become floppy and powerless, and that it takes a whole day for the suit to regain its endurance gauge. Momo tells Vamola to close the distance between them and the enemy, as the Kaiju suit is insanely powerful at close combat.

Vamola tries to attack the building-shaped alien, but seems to miss every one of them. On the other hand, the enemy keeps using the explosives to damage her suit. Soon, we see the kaiju suit fall to the ground as the alien uproariously announces his victory. He wonders if the girls will be alive for him to take their powers and plans to hand over their bodies to the Serpoians to dissect. Suddenly, Momo’s voice sounds from inside the building as she asks the alien what he’s attacking.

The alien is shocked, and asks Momo and Vamola to come out so he can kill them. Momo asks if he knows the story of Isshin Boshi. It tells how someone massive is defeated by a small person who managed to get inside them. Momo reveals that she and Vamola swiped a few of the explosives from earlier and scattered them throughout the alien’s building body. As the bombs start exploding, the alien screams and says he will shake them out. Momo says she’ll never forgive what they did to her grandmother. She uses her Moe Moe Tri-Beam attack on the struggling alien and we see its massive body being torn in half.

Dandadan Chapter 208 review

Vamolaa engages in close combat with the enemy (Image: Shueisha/ Yukinobu Tatsu).

I know that I praise Momo Ayase in every chapter review, but she proves to be one of the most quick-witted characters in every one of them. Despite her small size, and Vamola’s suit being destroyed, she came up with a plan to defeat the monstrous chameleon alien. I don’t know if she will ever turn back to her normal size, but Momo keeps proving again and again that she is one of the most formidable characters of the story in any size. With the chameleon alien and Saint-Germain out of the way, will Momo finally be able to complete the ritual and turn big again?
