The historical fantasy anime Shabake will begin airing on Friday, 3 October, 2025. Ahead of the Fall premiere, the official website and social media accounts of the series revealed several new cast members. Moreover, the anime also released a new key visual and main trailer, which features the ending theme song of the show.

The newly announced voice actors joining the series are:

The new trailer of the anime features the ending theme song ‘Myakumyaku’ by KAFUNÉ. The opening theme song of the show is ‘Inochi no Parade’ by Kujira.
Takahiro Okawa directs the upcoming anime at Bandai Namco Pictures. Toko Machida is in charge of screenwriting, while Akari Minagawa designs the characters. Rei Ishizuka composes the music.
The anime adaptation is based on the historical fantasy novel series written by Megumi Hatanaka and illustrated by Yū Shibata. A manga adaptation by Mimori has also been published.
The story takes place in Edo-period Japan, and follows a young man named Ichitarō. Despite being the heir of Nagasakiya, a great commercial store in Nihonbashi, Ichitarō can’t go outside due to his sickly demeanor. However, his spirit companions, Sasuke (an inugami) and Nikichi (a hakutaku), always protect him and stay by his side. But one day, Ichitarō sneaks out of his home and witnesses a murder. With the help of his spirit friends, the protagonist is hell-bent to make the murderer pay for their sins.
