The series will premiere in January 2026.
It was previously announced that the classic anime series Ronin Warriors aka Samurai Troopers is getting a sequel anime. Recently, the official website and social media accounts of the Armor Legends Samurai Troopers (Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers) anime unveiled four new characters and voice actors. Previously, the protagonist’s VA was revealed, along with the initials of those who will voice the other samurai troopers. However, this time, all four of them have been announced.
Armor Legends Samurai Troopers new cast, staff, and other details
The four new voice actors who have joined the anime cast are:
- Kaito Uesugi/Sōkyū no Kaito voiced by Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, Degesu in Dragon Ball DAIMA)
- Musashi Hōjō/Suiren no Musashi voiced by Ayumu Murase (Ginro in Dr. Stone, Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!!)
- Yamato Hōjō/Kōya no Yamato voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi (Aoi Kaguragi in Kaiju No. 8, Kumakawa in Mob Psycho 100)
- Shion Ishida/Senkō no Shion voiced by Kentarō Kumagai (Laios Touden in Delicious in Dungeon, Zero Kirisame in Demon Lord, Retry! R)
The previously announced protagonist of the anime is:
- Gai voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi (Akatsuki Red in Mr. Villain’s Day Off, Ayato Yorita in The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity)
A brand new teaser trailer featuring the protagonist and other four samurai troopers has been released. Yōichi Fujita directs the anime at studio Sunrise. Shōgo Mutō is the scriptwriter. Yuhei Murota designs the main characters while Tsukasa Kotoboki designs the villains, Hideo Okamoto designs the original Yoroi Gears, and Takuya Suzuki designs the Yoroi Gears for anime. The pen-name of the collective staff at Sunrise is Hajime Ayate, who is credited for the original story. Shūji Katayama composes the music.
Sunrise created the original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers anime back in 1988. In the United States, Cartoon Network released it under the name Ronin Warriors. The new anime takes place in present-day Shinjuku area of Japan, where five boys put on the Yoroi Gear armours to fight off the evil demon emperor Arago.
