Weekly Young Jump and MANGA Plus to simulpub upcoming manga in English

The first series to be simultaneously released in English is baseball manga BUNGO -unreal-.

Japan’s biggest manga publication company Shueisha has announced its newest venture!

It was revealed that all new manga chapters published in the company’s Weekly Young Jump magazine will be simultaneously released in English through the MANGA Plus website and app.

The venture has already begun, with the first manga to be simultaneously published in English being Yuji Ninomiya’s BUNGO -unreal-, part of the popular BUNGO series.

MANGA Plus to simultaneously publish all new Weekly Young Jump manga in English

Avid manga readers may already know that MANGA Plus, a digital publishing venture by Shueisha, releases most Weekly Shonen Jump and Shonen Jump+ manga simultaneously as they come out in Japan. But this time around, all new manga coming out through the Weekly Young Jump magazine will also be simulpubbed in MANGA Plus. The newest baseball manga BUNGO -unreal- by Yuji Ninomiya published its first chapter on 9 October, 2025, in WYJ’s issue 45, and is currently available to read on MANGA Plus.

MANGA Plus will release these new manga chapters in English worldwide (excluding Japan, China, and South Korea). This venture was launched so more new manga by Shueisha will reach a larger global audience.

MANGA Plus was launched by Shueisha back in 2019 because the publication wanted to help readers get into the habit of reading manga published regularly in the Weekly Shonen Jump and Shonen Jump+ magazines.

According to the report by Oricon News, the editorial department of Weekly Young Jump commented (machine translation):

“We hope to take advantage of the diversity of expression and wide variety of works that we have cultivated in the category of young adult magazines, so that readers around the world can enjoy the fun and depth of manga with the live feeling that comes with a weekly serialization.”

Fans can now read the BUNGO -unreal- manga’s first chapter for free on the MANGA Plus website, which describes its story as:

After diligently practicing "wall ball," Bungo Ishihama meets Yukio Noda, a member of Japan's youth baseball national team in a fateful encounter. The two then advance to middle school and join the ultra-competitive "Seio Senior" team. Aiming for the top of middle school baseball, they engage in fierce battles! As time passes, the duo moves on to high school, setting their sights on achieving "five consecutive Koshien championships," once again striving for the top!
